Collaboration with SKH Tsang Shiu Tim Secondary School

Ten J.6 students participated in the first session of the ‘Toastmasters Youth Leadership Program’ organized by SKH Tsang Shiu Tim Secondary School. It was an honor to have Mr. John POON as the General Evaluator. Mr. POON is currently the District 89 Division H Director, the Immediate Past President of the Island Toastmasters Club, and District 89 Champion in Mandarin Speech in 2021.

The program’s theme was Emotions and the word of the day was Passion. One of our students, Alarice Lee, was given the opportunity to do the preparation speech on behalf of our school. Her performance was great and impressive. As a learning community, our students volunteered enthusiastically in different sections of the meetings, such as ‘Shine on Stage’, ‘Impromptu with Impact’ and ‘Spice up with Stories’. All participants had exciting and precious learning experiences in the first meeting.

In addition to the program’s first session, there were five more sessions, including face-to-face and online sessions. Our students enjoyed the activities very much. The sound of laughter could be heard throughout the classroom and on Zoom. Most importantly, it provided a chance for our students to develop confidence in public speaking in a friendly and supportive environment.
